Sharing the Wisdom of Self Care
The ways that we love and take care of ourselves are often simple things that are easy to do at home and require small amounts of time. They are little things we may do each day, or each time we think of it and they give us great pleasure and create some peace, or beauty in our lives that leaves us with a tangible result of feeling more wonderful. Caring for ourselves so often gets left out of our schedules when we are busy, yet making the time for self-care can pay off in a trickle down effect that is far reaching as we feel more relaxed and have a deeper well of compassion for self, and others as we move through the day.
This week I spent time with a few friends who have agreed to meet once a month to enrich one and other with our respective gifts, and I felt like a superstar for sharing a very easy way to pamper myself and feel beautiful with only a few ingredients.
4 Strawberries mashed with 1 drop lavender oil is a beautiful face cleanser that takes one minute to do a beautiful job cleaning the skin on the face, neck and decolletage (do not use this if you are allergic to any of the ingredients please.) Rinse the skin with cool water. Then to moisturize, heal the skin, dissolve blackheads gently, and increase circulation, apply a thin layer of raw honey to the face for 15 minutes. This can get drippy as it warms to your body temp, so be aware. If you want to be extra fancy, you can gently tap the your face with your fingertips during the last 5 minutes and really get the circulation moving. This all adds up to glowing skin that feels soft and healthy. I like to do this part while I’m in the bath so I get full body pampering.
Try it on for size, or remind yourself of your favorite things to do to care for yourself, do one or two and remember how good it feels to give yourself that love. Then share your bounty with friends.
