It seems like all too often I am reminded that our assumptions really do get us all into a world of trouble.

How To Welcome Changes Instead of Fearing Them: Action

Stop Living in Fear of Big Changes

Transitions aren’t always easy.  But everyone has to face them at one time or another.

I’ve gone through a lot of big changes in my life.  Some were bad, some were good.  Each time I faced that point of transition when things started to change, I would take a step back, pause for a moment and remind myself that there would be something good waiting for me on the other side of the transition.

It’s that thought of something good waiting for me on the other side that helps so much.  That reminder that things will be better makes the big change more palatable.

Nurture Your Dreams: Action

Your dream is your baby, take that kind of care and patient loving attention with it.

Stop imagining your dream as a full-grown adult and see it as an infant, waiting to be nurtured by you every hour of every day until it is ready to stand on it’s own.

You see, your dream comes to life the minute you take the first step toward it, and it grows bigger every time you take another step. Most people are waiting for a mature dream to appear in their lives, not understanding it is up to them to grow and nurture this spark of an idea into a full-grown reality.

Tips for Living Life: Action

Little things that make big changes

Sometimes the littlest change can make a world of difference.

Start waking a little earlier and spending some quiet time to start your day? The rest of the day has been transformed.

What little change might change your life? You can pick one or two from the list below at random — I can almost guarantee that one of them will do worlds of good for anyone.

  1. Use travel delay as opportunity to stop rather than get stressed. When the world stands still, let it.
  2. Whenever your spouse says something the first thing you should hear is “I love you & want to spend my life with you”.
  3. Stop clinging and embrace change as a constant.

Learning to Love Negative Feedback: Action

Yes, even negative feeback can be loved

You have been working hard to create a sales report to give to your boss.

As soon as you return the report to her, she calls you and wants you to visit her room for a couple of minutes.

The topic of the meeting is your report and why your boss is not happy about it.

She thinks that you could do much better and gives you some negative (but constructive) feedback about your work.

You go to your desk again, but you find it hard to concentrate on your work.

You keep thinking about the feedback you just got.

Although the feedback you got was constructive, you still find it difficult to find any positive sides in it.
